I agree entirely, those things are always on the table. UPS (union) pilots lag the industry in minimum daily and trip rig. With industry peers paying a higher rig AND facing the expense of Part 117, it would be an uphill battle for UPS in mediated talks to advocate keeping us below industry standard (AS, DL, UA, AA) while both enjoying freedom from Part 117 and netting $1B per quarter. It's their fiduciary duty to try, we all understand, but my comfort in the eventual outcome lies not in blind adherence to the way things have always been, but merely the weakness of their hand.
