There was a controller at Kansas City Center, back in the early 80's that had a fog horn. He was calling an a/c with no response and told all on frequency to turn our volumes down for 10 seconds. Next thing I knew, the a/c was back on frequency. This happened again, about 3 weeks later, and I DIDN'T turn down the volume. The sound of a fog horn coming through my Dave Clarks' almost defend me!
