Why? We all can easily individually check wx, notams, and flight plan, and arriving in the airplane 60-45 minutes prior to push is plenty of time to brief, introduce yourself, set the tone / establish CRM and discuss fuel load etc., anything else is overkill.
All the other stuff is a throwback to the old days, things change, adapt. :-). I usually look over the flight plan and weather in my hotel two hours prior to show, no need for a group hug in the weather room.
