Uhhh...those 10 minutes are mine. The company shortened the report time for middle of the trip days. If you count, it takes up to 4 different computer sign ons to flight plan. I can usually count on Sabre computers locking up at least twice--after trying 3 different computers in the first place.
Most times, I can't even finish printing flight plans until 15 minutes into the duty day. Flight plan for maybe, 10 minutes if there aren't any questions for dispatch or MX. If we have to bump the fuel, plan on another 10 minutes. That leaves less than 20 minutes to get to the plane and pre-flight. I've had a bunch of gate agents lately want to close the door 15 minutes prior, and I've only been in the seat for 2-3 minutes. They are not happy. Talk to Jeff about the report times.
If the company doesn't want to pay me to be there earlier, that's fine with me. As stated earlier, I don't do company work on my time. That is time negotiated by my union. If the company won't pay me, I don't work. That's not being unprofessional, it's called a job!

You do plenty of work on YOUR time, unless you have a different contract then the rest of us or you wait until after the door closes and the brake is released to start the brief. If your counting per diem as pay oh my.
