61 is definitely a better bet. 141 is much more costly and that cost spread out over the additional 250 hours for part 61 isn't too bad. Also, with part 61, you usually can move faster and get a job as a CFI building flight time faster. Overall, you'll get to 1500 with part 61 before you get to even 1000 under 141
