It is actually the best way to tell non-swamp from swamp. Pine trees can't stand wet feet at all. My property has a few areas of pine trees, and when we get flooded those places are usually islands. That thing in the pic was planted by the former owner, and it has really grown in the last few years. My wife HATES it...
