In the last year I moved 400 numbers. Keep in mind that this was without Delta, American, and Southwest hiring. I could see another 400-500 leaving next year. So with all of those factors added plus a possible upgrade in 2 to 3 years it doesn't seem like an outrageous choice to me.
If you don't have a degree and lack motivation to move on to a major, then go for the best of the best regional out there and make an additional 5 dollars an hour.
