This is my 4th union airline, and it's the first one that says to the pilots that even if it makes your life better, and you approve, you may not violate the contract. It's madness if you ask me, but it is what it is.

Agreed in concept. But PLEASE, change your verbiage. Trust me, you don't want to give up limits on junior assign. You DO want to allow unlimited premium pay.
It is likely that our prohibition against true junior assignment is the most unique part of our contract.
We don't need to take any chances with changes to the junior assignment language.
There was an attempt made about three years ago to present a resolution at FLL to propose a return to unlimited premium pay, but it fell apart. Part of the reason it failed to gain traction was specifically that it was originally written to eliminate limits on junior assign.
