There would seem to be a whole host of common sense reasons for not wanting to lower the standards of our profession. Certainly one reason we can likely agree on is that lowering standards make it more difficult to justify the pay we negotiate.
And I AGREE WITH ALL THAT.

I just can't understand how you meshed an employee that serves in a customer service role like FA, or gate/ticket agen being a good candidate, but somehow a college graduate understands customer service where you believe that can't be learned elsewhere, and how that ALL ties into the situation you outlined where they'd be in charge of a massive operation with hundreds of employees and a 5 figure an hour operating cost that could have communication cut off? (Holy run on sentence Batman!!!)

Sorry, like I said, not sure how you pulled ALL THAT from what was the pretty obvious flow of discussion.

Annnyyyyyyyyywaaaaaaaaaaaaysssssssss, DAL is hiring pilot, FROM ALL SORTS of backgrounds and experience levels, and that's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

And that was a COMPLETE cluster fornication, with ALPA to blame. I know, you'll say it's ALL THE Pinndeavor pilot's fault. Whatever, ALAP national had a hand in it ALSO. Just like you rant that the Pinndeavor pilots should have taken action against the MEC for what they did, you should take action against ALPA national for signing off on such a complete POS agreement. Simple, right? Riiiiiggghhhht............

DAL is hiring by the way.
