That said, there are obstacles, and nothing is guaranteed. However, they do have a clear plan, and have been taking the steps necessary to implement their agenda and attain their objectives.
From what you've said it sounds like your idea is a B scale with a fence. AA hires pilots who start at AE on the 175 as a B scale APA pilot. Obviously there will be a side door for squadron buddies, sons/daughters, minorities to skip the AE job and go straight to mainline. While I agree with you it would cause a lot of people to apply at AE it's hardly industry shattering. B scales have been done before and the idea has been thrown around between APA and AE ALPA a few times in the past.
Your idea would be good for a lot of guys at AE so I hope it actually happens but I think the chances are extremely slim.
Nope, not a B scale. It's still a regional after all. They're just creating a clear way of filling every Eagle class with new hires during a pilot shortage.
50% of EVERY AA new hire class forever will be filled from Eagle flow thru's
That's the deal they're going to sell the Eagle pilots within the next 10 days.
I hear Glass (Airways bigwig) has a history of intentionally sending bad things just before important holidays or on Friday afternoons.
They'll get 190 planes
Flow thru for all
They'll lose
12/4 longevity scales
Per Diem freeze
401k contribution changes
Vacation
Lose 30 something million credit from some partial contract revision period after 4 years and lose the ability to negotiate more pay
There's more, but you should all know soon The company plans to spring the offer on them next Friday.
