Is it fair that because you went to a school with a powerful state lobbyist that you can have reduced hiring mins vs someone that went to a different aviation school but needs the full time?
As I said before, the difference was this was ALL posted on 9E's career website for pilots. Any potential pilot applicant that saw that website would see his options. 1000/100 for street hires and lower mins for those who had completed RJ programs. It's not "unfair" when they fully disclose it on their hiring webpage, because it then gives you the right to go and pursue your own path of what you think is best for you. This is nothing like what is happening with the SSP and Delta. Outside pilot candidates don't have a choice - they have to have a degree.

As rumors go so maybe its wrong but I was told DAL also held back payments to PNCL knowing it would force them into bankruptcy.
Only when PNCL announced we would be closing up US Airways Express flying out of places like BOS to better staff the other Colgan side of the operation (United Express). Delta looked at that and thought, why the hell should we pay so our competitors can be better staffed and compete with us? They refused training payment. This was right around when PNCL voluntarily gave up the BOS essential air service along with some other US Airways Express flying in order to boost up the United Express side. Delta did the right thing. I wouldn't pay for my competitors either.
