If I am not mistaken, erdude is a mainline pilot. It confuses and frustrates me that mainline pilots will use all sorts of derogatory terms for regional pilots for "eroding the profession." Then we have some say go to the crappiest place possible for the upgrade and our own gain. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

My other frustration is that mainline pilots wonder why regional pilots aren't as fired up about the threat from foreign, government subsidized airlines. We DO care, but currently we are fighting concessions to fly BIGGER RJs. Yes, we would love to stand shoulder to shoulder, but we have our own fight on our hands. This is why I hate the dis-unity and two tier nature of 121 ops.

Divide and conquer, and it ain't the pilots who win.

P.S. Erdude, I'm not trying to barbeque you, and I'm sure you don't have bad intentions. I'm just frustrated at the lack of unity in the pilot world and how easy it is for the management side of the house to play us off each other.
