I just looked.... and as a 2001 hire I will be able to hold the most Junior Captain position New York 88 (8114ish) in January of 2020. I will be able to hold the most Junior Captain position in my base mid 2023. Over a 31 year career I will be a captain for about 8 years assuming I don't bid captain in NY. If I do bid first Capt position available and commute I will be a captain for about 11 years. Not the career I envisioned.

- I figured age 40, then Bush* signed that crap from Southwest pilots raising the retirement age to 65
- I figured age 45, then we merged & discovered "capacity discipline"
Now that it looks like mid to late fifties ... why even bother? Being an FO for Delta isn't a bad gig
