Sure we can. DL pilots played a significant role in both rejecting what would have been a disasterous USAir merger as well as greasing the skids for the incredibly successful by any historical standard NW merger. Some mergers are way more high threat than others and we need to treat them as such not just from day one but long before. There are ways to mitigate high threat relative windfall SLI's from low longevity airlines. AS actually wouldn't be too bad, and could be workable with just a fence, while other scenarios may need a Guadalupe Holdings style approach to protect our careers.
