Commuting is tough, but even tougher when brand new. You will likely be on reserve for at least a few months and commuting to reserve is no fun at all. Also, commuting increases your chances of missing a check-in, something you for sure want to avoid during your first year.

I don't work for Skywest and don't know how the DEN base is regarding seniority.

I will probably go back to a life of commuting as I simply can't afford to live in my current domicile and don't really like it anyway.

Back to the question.... I think MKE is or will be the junior Skywest base. At least the living cost/crashpad cost/hotel cost there would be reasonable.
