What exactly do you mean besides the employees taking what was in their 401k plan? Did Comair have some defined benefit program that was only for those with membership in the secret society?
On the contrary; they specifically do look at retirements. In your case; projections placed them in the position of having to do significant hiring in the midst of a pilot shortage. Based upon current events; they were correct.
