There is a thread near this one titled "Delta Pay Question". The company (Delta) had taken a trip from a pilot for IOE and paid them for it. This pilot was asking if he or she could then pick up a trip for holiday pay, in effect triple-dipping. As I read it through teary eyes, all I could think was how far Allegiant has to come in order to come even close to a situation like this. If this had happened here, the pilot would still have been paid, but would have been put on reserve (for the original footprint of the trip) and most likely given some horrendous assignment. Then the assignment would drag into the original rest period and when queried, scheduling would mutter something about flexibility before threatening to call the Chief Pilot and hanging up.
