It's unreasonable to expect industry leading on a 'first contract' - who ever has been able to secure that right out of the box? I'm hopeful for industry average. That would be good for all professional pilots, but most of all for the current pilots of Allegiant. They deserve to be treated better, or no worse than the rest of their peer group, mainline pilots, working for a company they may intend to retire from.
Very true, just be sure that members understand they have to aim very high since they WILL fall short of where they aim.
The point about FAR117 is also valid, as I imagine a lot of the pilots at Allegiant make up for the lack of good pay, with flying A LOT of overtime and open time, etc.. which may not be possible now.
