Yes, what would the warrior leader Robin Olds think of his Air Force today? Sadly, we are facing a similar decline in Naval Aviation (Navy and Marine Corps) with an emphasis in the wrong areas while "grooming" our flying leaders. It's yet another tragic byproduct of this PC-driven, "everyone gets a trophy" culture that we now live in. As former Navy Secretary Lehman stated in September of 2011, "“If we continue to suppress the warrior spirit, there will be no one left to defend the Constitution of the United States and we shall perish as a nation.”

While all would recognize that we needed to clean up our collective act in ready rooms after Hook '91 in Vegas, the PC movement has gone way too far in doing so. And, it seems the Air Force is going the same direction as illustrated by the tragic gutting of fighter culture at Nellis and throughout the USAF. Hence, I don't envy the flyers (in all branches) who must carry our torch in the years ahead.
