The stupid thing about not riding in the flight deck jumpeat internationally (unless it is your own carrier) is that applies to U.S. airlines only. I know for a fact there are at least two large European airlines that will put non-revs, not just pilots, in flight deck jumpseats to and from the States. I was offered the second jumpseat heading to Europe but got bumped at the last minute by the teenage son of a ramper for the airline. The first jumpseat was occupied by a gate agent. I have also ridden in the flight deck within Europe on a ZED ticket.
