Guard and reserves are offering affiliation bonuses. I know several guys that have turned down tens of thousands, simply because they didn't want their parent service to have any leverage over them at all.

The "trickle down" is turning into a flown blown attempt at takeover. AD is trying to roll themselves into Guard and Reserve units, and effectively take over to augment AD requirements. I can't wait to see how it works out when middle fingers start popping up like prairie dogs.
