I was flying a C-208B in Hawaii as SIC went to a regional interview and got shot down, FAST. I then moved over the left seat and logged about 700 PIC. The PIC in the van was almost nessesary to make the SIC time legitimate to other operators. The thing you need to worry about is getting so far behind in multi time. After my van job I got a left seat BE-99 job to get my PIC multi turbine 1000. This job also seemed to only make me competitive in the regional market. There are lots of pilots in the regional world with 121/PIC/multi-crew experience that might be more valuable. But in the end the money at 135 cargo was good. And its all about who you know to get a good job. Hope that helps.
