A general rule of thumb is that the further west you go the more senior the bases get. MSP, ORD and IAH are all pretty junior bases that you could get right away or within a month or two. The ones in the middle like DEN and SLC are more senior but still possible within a few months (sometimes SLC takes no transfers for long periods of time though). West coast bases like SFO, FAT, PDX, SEA and PSP there's almost no chance at holding within a few months (on the RJ). LAX is kind of a tossup that used to be more senior but has taken some new hires recently.
