If you mean why does Delta not do my taxes for me then there is not much to say to that. The data is there, you can pay someone to apply the IRS rules and do the math or you can easily do it yourself. Delta is not going to provide tax advise or services.

You being wrong is also predictable.
Nobody is asking Delta to prepare their tax return or give advice. However, it would be simple for them to provide us with a year end compilation of the information needed to accurately fill out the Employee Business Expense form 2106 that we all file every year.
I agree that the data is there. But the way Delta stores it makes it extremely difficult for an individual pilot to go back at the end of every year and get it out of the computer in a usable form.
For you to claim that a pilot can "easily do it yourself" is just laughable.
Flightline and Pro-Diem would not exist if that were the case.
