This is true but, the question was about the first day of Reserve after a non-fly/work day. Thus you are required to check your schedule at 0200 base time on the first day (PWA 23.S.1.d.2). This is why SD said you couldn't be on call or given a trip before 1200 on your first day.
According to the Dickson version of the contract there is no longer a last non-fly day schedule check at all. You just go on long call at midnight.
If they have given you a trip for that first day then you can avoid a midnight phone call by checking your schedule before you hit the rack. Otherwise they are going to call you just after midnight.
I too would be interested to hear from DALPA on where we stand with this situation. Is there a grievance? Are guys getting their pay docked and DALPA just saying "Tough luck. Hang tight while we're negotiating"?
