An extended period of commuting or crash pad living at 40 something is not very appealing (too much added time away from kids). There is hope for commuting on the 757 in EWR as a line holder. On reserve you can aggressive pick up as well as the long call option. Most of the junior trips are commutable on both ends. I was a bottom line holder on the 756 in EWR last summer and held nothing but commutable trips. The EWR 76T is a completely different animal. The problem is the domestic flying out of LGA and JFK. Mostly not commutable.
