1. A year ago I would've told you that a job in the government would be an OK alternative to airlines. Maybe a little less money but rarely away from home and at least the job is stable. No longer do I feel that way. The gov't side of working still has plenty of good things going for it even with the recent changes and what are some future challenges.
Just like any other of the decisions in aviation - what works for one doesn't work for others. I wll agree though that there are probably fewer great opportunities. CBP still holds a great interest to me - both work and mission - but it isn't in the cards
