Exactly, this IS still a relevant thread, Attarian is still working for UAL in the context of being a United Captain. I wish UAL ALPA would at least address him in context: "UAL VP Flight Operations, NWA Capt. Attarian" (or where ever it was that he actually worked as an airline Capt.). The nature of the VP job is to screw over line pilots, once that's understood at least you won't be surprised. When was the last time a VP actually advocated FOR pilots rather than made excuses for crappy management? Did anyone read the drivel earlier this month about the challenges we face with "weather...blah blah blah, FAR...blah blah blah, merger...blah blah blah"? This empty suit is that same as the others and is not here to help you.
