FLY6584, from the guys I talk to, it can vary depending on their pay style. Whether or not one check is half the min guaranty, or half of what was ACTUALLY flown for the previous month, etc.
An employer I had years ago had a 75 hr grnty. But the 1st of the month pay check was a flat 45 hrs of pay, the mid month was for everything else + perdiem. Another place I worked, the 1st of the month paycheck if for 37.5 hrs (half of 75), the mid month is everything else + perdiem. So the first example I gave, the paychecks more balanced. The second place, it's a little check followed by a big check. Then you have to figure in deductions, etc.
But again, the guys I talked to, first year per month average TAKE HOME around $16-1800 flying a line, getting perdiem, just on min grnty. YES, I KNOW, people don't like to count per diem as income. When you're on first year pay, and it can account for 25-30% of what you see on your check, sorry, IT'S INCOME.
And again, AGAIN DEPENDING ON DEDUCTIONS, etc take it into the $22-2400/mo range second year. I'm sure some guys will have better examples.
Like I said, years ago, but I always wagged my checks by taking hourly rate X hours flown, then X .65 for what I had for deduction/tax, then add perdiem. Seemed to always be close.
