I was in Kenya back in late 2012. It is indeed a beautiful country. I know they have several regional carriers flying equipment from dash-8s to CRJ's. The culture there very much gave the impression that knowing the right people can much propel you into any position you want. Obviously this is true anywhere, but regulation is enforced to a much lesser extent than that of the US or countries of the like. I was in Eldoret for 2 weeks, and got to know one of the managers for the regional "Jetlink" fairly well over the course of the visit. At the end of my visit he essentially told me all I would have to do is let him know if I wanted to come back and fly for the airline and the position would be mine. As much as I would like to, I haven't been back to check if the offer was genuine...
