Speaking of- what is the min sit time for us to be required to be given a hotel? I got rerouted into a 4:55 one yesterday (while descending through 11,000 feet back into mecca... talk about a distraction- probably should ASAP that one). I didn't particularly mind it since my parents were passing through trying to get home and it was nice of them.
I think the reg says 5 hours but here's my story. Sign in at 0030 for a GDL turn. No CA. Do multiple preflights and board/unboard jet twice anticipating a CA show. Finally, at 6.:00 AM I call crew tracking, tell them out out on my feet and need to crash for few hours. They hook me up with the airport Hilton where I get three hours or so of sleep and an ironed uni. Huge relief!
