Well luckily i know how to use dictionary.com, because ya'll have used alot of words I'm not exactly familiar with(being that I'm not in the industry yet). But I've found out that the pay is nothing like what the counselor tells you. Most pilots don't like their job (or at least those that post here). Alot of the senior pilots don't want new hires to come in to their territory in the hope that one day the pay will go up. I'm assuming their was alot of pay cuts after 9/11. I currently work in a warehouse slinging boxes all day. So I don't have dreams of joining the majors or Legacy. I just want to experience the feeling of freedom that ya'll signed up for in the first place. I'm actually hoping to be placed somewhere locally as an instructor. And I'd be lieing to ya'll and myself for that matter if I told you I didn't want to at least go reginal. Get to wear the beautiful suits. Get to control a huge aircraft to the best of your ability. Get the feeling of satisfaction when landing the plane at your destination and your passengers get to see their families again(holidays/business trips/other pilots heading home). I am well aware that I'm going to now get all the negatives from the people here. But as I said before, I'm learning from ya'll even the negatives hold some lessons.
Thanks again everyone for your time. It's been entertaining and informative. I hope to see ya'll in the air one day soon.
