It still makes no sense that anyone would ever voluntarily leave the ER for the 737. That would be like divorcing Ashley Judd for Hillary Clinton.
I was thinking that too, except if you consider the ER F/O's might leave to fly 737/320/MD88/717 Capt. and the ER Capt's might leave to fly A330/764 Capt.
A disturbing trend I've noticed is, none of the retiring 747/777 Capt's are being replaced. I just looked at the Aug. 2014 Projected Category numbers for the ATL 777 A. It shows down 20 Capts. from today, (157 in Aug, vs. 177 today) and today we are already down 10 from last March (187)....so that's a net -30 ATL 777 Capts over 18mo. No replacements for retirees. Our reserve manning still shows about 5-7 required per day, with double to triple that available, so I guess they'll just keep shrinking it.
Not sure what the DTW 777 A situation is, but they don't look to be gaining any there in that same staffing forcast, so they are not shifting the seats from ATL to DTW, just eliminating them. When is the last time they had an AE with 777/747 Catps?
