Another variable is attrition outside the flow as the industry/hiring market rapidly starts to pick up steam. If CPZ staffed the absolute min and threw flows to DL indoc the second they could then got caught stuck in the chocks they would be in trouble. DL has made and makes bad decisions WRT regional providers, but one thing they always make sure they have is a big hammer to pound regionals that drop the ball operationally.

They might sit around all night worrying about how to save 2 cents in per diem off a 5 day, but they know if they get burned from something as basic as this they will get punished hard. There is a cost to hold back but it is very minimal, they carried it last time and they are carring it now at least to some degree.

I wasn't saying they would put the Compass flows in class at the first available moment while sacrificing the operation.

Someone asked why they would move it up from a (projected) 60 day hold back to a 45. Because if they think they can get by with that, they can save a lot of money.

Compass has pretty consistently been Delta's top performing regional for about the last year now, even before that we were near the top. Many of our performance stats are second only to Hawaiian's. But why wouldn't we work a little harder than most, we are getting a pretty damn good deal!

Like you said, I'm sure Compass would not hamstring the operation just to save $50 or $100k. But at the same time, they are gonna release guys as soon as they think they can. As I said before, that kinda of money isn't chump change, especially when your airline is owned by one man.
