You didn't offend me, don't worry. But, I will say with regard to the above, that depends on the captain. I treat the captain just like I would any other line pilot; I don't expect these guys/gals to teach unless they're instructors (and we do have plenty of FO instructors here) or check airmen. I just show up to the jet, do my work safely, cash my checks, and go home; I don't expect anything more out of my coworkers, either.

What we really don't want, in the era of modern CRM, are a bunch of guys who treat the cockpit as a pecking order based on the number of stripes on their shoulders. It creates a rift in the cockpit that can lead to one guy screwing things up while the other guy watches and doesn't want to speak up due to a difference in rank.
