This is how the industry is! Mesa required an ATP to get hired at one point. Now...not so much. Republic is offering cash with previous experience. United (mainline) used to hire people who answered a newspaper article with little to no experience. Things change and this is where the industry is...deep, I know.

More education needs to get out to aspiring pilot, I'll give you that. I knew nothing when I got into flight training, and slightly more when I was hired with AMW. Maybe some sort of a program offered by the unions about the state of the industry and the true day-to-day life of an airline pilot. How about you become a mentor at the local FBO? What have you done? Stop blaming the low time new hires that are advancing their careers.
What are you advancing towards? Sure, as an individual it makes sense, if every one's doing it there will be nothing left at the level you are aspiring to. Think of the people at the majors right now, how can they convince management that they deserve more money when people will fly "RJ's" for a third of the price. Pretty soon majors are going to be a name with all flying outsourced. That is the trend right now. think 10 years form now, You still think it's good that there will always be someone who will do it for less? If there isn't then we can just lower standards again.
