I have an important personal commitment 4 months after my class date where I will need a long weekend off (Fri-Sun Minimum). Missing the commitment is not an option. Should I:
(a.) Tell management on day one of class
(b.) Wait and see what schedule I am awarded before mentioning it.
(c.) Hope that I will have enough PTO to use for any trips/reserve that are in conflict.

Wait till youre on the line and deal with it. They've been pretty good about that stuff. The only one who can do anything will be your base chief so its a waste of time to inform the training dept. Good luck.
