Unfortunately, there are a lot more really great people and pilots who have been stuck at their regional(s) a lot longer..... Most of them grinding through "paying their dues" in this craptastic industry, working towards better, while their cheese keeps getting moved.

It is what it is. Play the game or sit on the sidelines.
But no one should be thinking that the process is truly meritocratic, unless the ability to network is the real qualification.
