Just because you received an email does not mean its real, as in from SkyWest. Who was the contact? How did they suggest you contact them? Those facts alone may tell us if its real.
The contact was Mr Atkin, a pilot recruiter. I sent him an e-mail inquiring as to it's authenticity...when I hear back, I'll report.
