I've been checking out some other options as well.... even buying an airplane or part of one...
another option I found is a local flying club at the auburn airport- hourly rates for the planes and instructors are killer, but the catch is there's a $2000 buy-in and $65/mo dues. long term it might pay back, but it'll take a while.

I'm checking into some schools in eastern WA as well... I have a place to stay for free if I go over there for 2-3 days/wk.
