He went on to say that DBMS is totally antiquated and wants it re-done.
That we should be getting and acknowledging re-routes during situations like that right on an-easy to use app on our phone with just a couple of clicks.
I didn't get into any big issues as he was trying to talk to as many folks as he could and I didn't want to hold him up.
Whatever reservations people have about him, guy knows airlines, and that is good for a change......*cough* Leo *cough*.....
Can't argue with his DBMS comments, but our CNO system does basically what he describes - we get text message of a reroute and send an acknowledgment reply. The problem I ran into during one on of the last big IROPs was when they sent me a reroute that was not FAR legal and I could not get ahold of anyone. Whatever system they come up with needs to have two way communications abilities. Is it true that the FA's already have something like this with their new fangeled phones?
