Well if you look at this time in 2013 to 2014, we added 178 Captains.
Oh wait, I think I see what you did. Yeah if you take all of the positive/additional Captains added you get 424... just ignore the 246 lost Captain positions.
And where were the 178 added from? Well, the WB categories including the ER lost about 247 FOs and the NB gained 120 FOs. So those WB FOs went to As or NB Bs.
