There has been a lot of talk about how the 50 seat JETs are not cost efficient and how they will go away. But what about companies like Skywest who fly smaller turbo props , such as EMB 120? Will they be getting rid of the EMB 120's too?
In my opinion the future of the EMB-120 flying at SKW is dependent on the supply of new pilots for jet flying. If SKW is able to staff the jets I think the EMB has a future. If SKW is unable to attract enough replacement pilots I believe they will cannibalize the EMB-120 operation to staff the jets.
