The Guard/Reserve gig is all on who you know and what you can bring to the table. It is MUCH more than just applying -- it's hanging out with the unit (rushing), learning the lifestyle, etc. ALL units are hiring, it's just a matter of when you get the call….
I'd recommend picking up the phone and calling the Chief Pilot and ask to come visit the unit, etc. Show some initiative.
Thanks. I've looked at most of those threads and didn't mean to hijack, but it just seemed like a lot of folks have a sure deal lined up for PC if vsp doesn't work out. My experience has been different. Threw some emails out to chief pilots expressing interest and desire to come visit with little activity. Guess they are just flooded right now. Trying to find the delicate balance of initiative and not ****ing off the one guy that could hold the keys to my release from AD. I'll take it to those threads though.
