If you are good with numbers and a voracious reader go for it. For a first year pilot on reserve and getting a lot of FB trips you could get rusty. Reserve is random, even with having a choice sometimes, many times on reserve you do not have a choice.
I agree 100% . Even having flown intl a decent amount, it seems there is a lot going on for a new hire 75/76 with all the fleet variants and variety of flying . My point is in an ideal world I wouldn't bid it initially. With my age, if I was in this class this week I would have had no choice more than likely and would have been awarded the 75/76. I would much prefer a NB initially. On the positive side I'll make the best of any assignment!
