For what it's worth, the guys I know that even got the first nod from HAL had to network EXTENSIVELY. They didn't get an interview just because they lived in Hawaii. They got an interview because they're genuinely good dudes, with impeccable records. They got invited out for the FIRST interview. So yeah, just move on out and you're good to go I'm sure.
