Well, we DO know that starting 17 Jun there's gonna be a 717 doing
AUS 0730> 0825 LAX 0945> 1440 AUS 1630> 1745 LAX 1815 > 23:30 AUS
for leg times of about 3 hours. So you can do 2, but not 3. I'd guess one crew does AUS>LAX>AUS and lays over; x 2. Maybe the first guys of day get tagged with another 1 hr leg after that.
In any case, I see some AUS layovers on the 717, and AUS is a GREAT place! Music, college town, hill country, BBQ, 7 brew-pubs downtown, Barton Springs, Austin Lake, Texas. Sign me up!
edit... I looked alllll over at the Delta route map thing, and I can't find ANY 717 flights into or out of AUS and LAX starting on 17 Jun, except between the city pair. I was looking for a DTW>AUS or ATL > AUS leg to get the jet out there and back... can't find it. So.... that makes me ask, if we're doing AUS>LAX all day on a 717, and the jet is NOT ever making contact with DTW or ATL... does that mean LAX will be a hub for it? (or AUS!!)
Who has a better tool to look at route segments by aircraft type? The Delta Air Lines Map shows all route and flights on our current sched, along with what the equipment flying it is, so it's accurate, just have to do a lot of clicking.
