Not true--1:2 matching ($.50 / $1.00) up to 4% for 2014 (ramping back up to 6% by 2015(?)) starts right away [effectively not until the second pay period, since you can't start contributing until after your first paycheck due to the way it's set up with the custodian]. Ops checked since Sep 2013 (my hire date).
