Here's the thing. The interviewing company cannot ask for proof. My father was second generation Irish, my mother was Native American/Mexican. I qualify as Native American and Hispanic, but look like the biggest potato eating Mick around. My sisters look like my mother and no one ever believes we are remotely related. I have never put that down on any application because I didn't want to explain my family tree, but I was told by a United SVP that they cannot verify it.
