Maybe maybe not. Does every resident become a doctor? Not sure, maybe some leave medicine. Does every clerk become a judge? Probably not, but some may. Others may become a prosecuting attorney and make little compared to a defense attorney who makes more.
Either way it is the same thing. Some pilots will make big bucks flying freight or for mainline. Others will "settle" for regional or corporate and make less. But for doing what you want to do (fly airplanes), 80K a year is not the end of the world.
I don't recall anyone
guaranteeing me a 300K job when I started working on my private - like everything else, it is a crapshoot.
